Eclipses Spring 2014 - Shake Rattle and Roll

Eclipses bring changes. Many believe that an eclipse is about ten times more powerful than a full or new moon. Most find times during eclipses are stressful, because, let's face it, we don't like change. The eclipses always occur on the New or Full Moons, and they usually come in pairs like we have coming in April 2014. But, occasionally we will get three eclipses in a row. The New Moon eclipses are always solar eclipses, and the eclipses that occur on the Full Moon are always lunar eclipses. Some of the changes eclipses can stimulate are the breakup of a "rocky" relationship, layoffs and cutbacks in industry, death of an elderly loved one, sudden accidents, and new babies being born. Change brings progress, even if it is sometimes very uncomfortable.
The eclipses this Spring could be especially distressing, because we will have four outer planets, Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter, and Mars, forming a grand cross (the most difficult aspect in astrology) around the same time the eclipses will be occurring. This aspect, all by itself, could cause strife, upsets, restlessness, and coercion. The eclipses will be like spiritual "bombs" exploding in the middle of Armageddon... Well... maybe not that bad, but its possible we could feel like our emotional foundation is being town down. Its going to be a tough few weeks.
Our first eclipse on April 15th will be a total lunar eclipse - and yes it will be viewable from the US. It will hit it's peak at 3:46 AM eastern time, which may be a little late for some on the east coast. But, it will occur at 12:46 AM pacific time, so our west coast friends should have a very good show. This eclipse will occur at 25 degrees 16 minutes Libra. If you have any planets or power points in your natal chart between 22 and 28 degrees in Libra or Aries, it is likely you will find this eclipse impacts you more, especially if any of those planets are your Sun or your Moon.
I have been studying a book by Celeste Teal, and she has a formula to calculate the power of an eclipse on a scale of 1 to 7. According to her formula, this eclipse will be a 2, which may not seem like a lot. But, I can see that there are going to be extenuating circumstances, like that grand cross overhead. She also talks about how an eclipse "echos" (that is my word), after the original event. When certain planets cross the position where the eclipse occurred, they can "re-trigger" the original eclipse. Even though this eclipse has a very low power ranking, the other planetary aspects going on at the time will have an amplifying effect. Also, we had an eclipse on October 18th, 2013, that will hit one of it's planetary echos on the same day as the lunar eclipse. Any issues we dealt with during that eclipse are likely to return.
A total eclipse in Libra could cause partnership and/or financial problems. Relationships that are under stress will be very likely to end around this time, and many of us may find we have an extra expense to deal with. You can also determine what areas the eclipse may affect in your personal life by looking at which of your houses (in your natal chart) the eclipse will land in. This can show the parts of your life that may be weak. If the eclipse were to occur in one's sixth house, it is possible (maybe even probable), that they would be dealing with a health issue.
The second eclipse will be on April 29th, and it will be an annular solar eclipse. (In an annular eclipse, the Moon is too far away from the Earth to completely cover the Sun.) The good news is that this one will only rank a 1 on Celeste Teal's scale. Luckily the outer planet battle will be beginning to wind down, but this eclipse is likely to re-stimulate some problems.
This eclipse will be at 8 degrees 51 minutes, Taurus (okay to round to 9 degrees), and it will occur at 2:04 AM EDT (11:04 PM PDT, April 28th). Obviously, it will not be viewable in the US. Taurus and Libra are both ruled by Venus, so this eclipse could have similar traits to the eclipse two weeks earlier. We may hit more money and love problems, but we may also find that progress is out of our reach. Taurus can be very stubborn when afflicted. This eclipse will be at a positive angle to Neptune, but that may actually bring more confusion. Neptune may fill our minds with "pink smoke," encouraging us to take too many risks. If you have any planets or power points in your natal chart between 6 and 12 degrees in Taurus or Scorpio, this eclipse could hit you on a more personal level. And, depending upon the planet, this could increase it's power in your life.
Eclipses are like spiritual weather disasters. Yes, they can bring destruction and loss, but they also open up new avenues of growth. If we didn't have these divine muscle builders come along every now and then, we would get comfortable and never change. Our higher power and our inner knowing cannot thrive in routine. Its only through challenges can we discover just how powerful we really are.
